3L Public Service Fellowships & Drinan Award – Deadline 4/23

Class of 2021, a reminder about the below upcoming opportunities.

Public Service Post-Graduate Fellowships

The Law School will fund three post-graduate, yearlong, full-time paid fellowships for our 2021 JD graduates (December 2020 and May 2021).

BC Law attracts and develops some of the most dynamic, talented, and committed public service students. The BC Law Public Service Fellowship Program is designed to further the school’s commitment to supporting these leaders as they enter and advance public service in the communities they serve. We remain a school committed to social and economic justice, and dedicated to improving access to legal services and to helping underfunded and understaffed prosecutor, defender and government offices. Our hope is that these fellowships open opportunities for our graduates to gain exceptional legal experience that would not otherwise exist.

The application is open on SAGE and will close on Friday, April 23rd at 11:59pm EDT. The Public Service Committee will make its selections in May and the chosen fellows will start their positions in September 2021.

The Drinan Family Fund Award

Boston College Law School is pleased to offer the Drinan Family Fund Award for a third-year J.D. student who will pursue a career in the public sector.

Thanks to the generous contribution of anonymous donors, The Drinan Family Fund in Support of Public Interest Law has been established at Boston College Law School.  The goal of the Drinan Family Fund is to encourage Boston College Law School students to pursue public interest careers.  The fund awards $10,000 to a graduating student who will pursue a public sector career.  This award is to be applied solely to indebtedness incurred for legal education. The award is renewable for a second year for a maximum award of $20,000 over the two years if the recipient remains in public interest employment and fulfills the other stated conditions of the award.

More information about the award and the application process can be found on SAGE.  Applications are due by Friday, April 23rd at 11:59pm EDT. The Public Service Committee will review all applications and the Drinan recipient will be notified of the award before graduation.
