Rural Summer Legal Corps: Applications Open 12/21, 5K Stipend

Each summer, Equal Justice Works (EJW) partners with Legal Services Corporation (LSC) to support 35 dedicated law students who want to serve rural communities, as part of the Rural Summer Legal Corps. Student Fellows help address the access to justice crisis for people living in rural areas and tackle a number of tough legal projects including responding to disaster-related legal issues, addressing affordable housing and evictions, and providing legal aid to victims of domestic violence.

Students work for 8-10 weeks at their host sites and receive a $5,000 stipend for their summer service. Applications for the 2021 Rural Summer Legal Corps will open December 21Visit EJW’s website to learn more about this opportunity.
